Devil May Cry HD Collection Announced

by Scott Chambers on October 17, 2011

Today Capcom finally announced that the Devil May Cry HD Collection is a real deal. This collection will bring Devil May Cry 1, 2, and 3 (special edition) all together in one package with a fresh coat of HD paint on top. The game will retail for $39.99 making it a rather sweet deal for 3 classic PS2 games. This collection will also be multiplatform, which will let Xbox fans finally get there hands on the original 3 Devil May Cry games. There will also be bonus content, which Capcom isnt quite ready to tell us about yet, which means its either something really amazing, or something really minor. Either way we will find out next year when the game launches. Until then here are some screenshots for us to drool over!

Gamescom DMC Trailer

by Scott Chambers on August 16, 2011

I’m not gonna lie but when I saw the the plans for the devil may cry reboot I got pretty nervous. Devil May Cry has been my favorite action game franchise since the very first Devil May Cry, and seeing Danté’s new look certainly had me concerned. But I tried to keep an open mind about it, as I trust ninja theory, since they have made some really good games in the past. Turns out handing off the reins to ninja theory wasn’t such a bad idea after all. This trailer has got me stoked to play the new DMC.

Sure it still looks like it needs work, and Im sure it does. But the weapons, and gameplay look to be shaping up nicely. We won’t actually know how it turns out until we get it in our hands. I hope ninja theory can make this game as buttery smooth as previous devil may cry games. All in all I think we can all at least try this game out when it comes out instead of bash it for Danté’s new look.

E3 Microsoft Press Conference Recap

by Scott Chambers on June 6, 2011

Its that time of the year again, E3 is back in full swing. Kicking it off this year is Microsoft. Lets see what Microsoft has up their sleeve, rumors are flying about Halo 4. Only time will tell. So lets get started!

The conference kicks off straight into a trailer of Modern Warfare 3. Actually turns out its a live demo, and the players controller just died…great start! Seems there will be underwater missions in MW3, and the graphics are very nice. Finally some shooting, the gameplay looks silk as ever. Im really impressed with the graphics, and smoothness of everything. The game is shaping up very nicely. Finishing off the demo with a high speed boat chase, all of this is looking very impressive. Time to actually talk about MW3. Game is huge and the release date is November 8th.

Tomb Raider is now being demo’d on stage. The game opens is Lara being tied up, and hanging upside down. The player is making her swing back and forth, causing the rope holding her to burn off. Very gritty graphics, looks like a very nice new take on the franchise. Lara seems to like talking to herself in this game, also it seems you can hold a button to show you were to go next. Lara is having a bad day, everything seems to be going wrong for her, the cave she is in seems to be collapsing.

EA sports time, Peter Moore on stage. EA is taking the Kinect approach the next year with Tiger Woods, Fifa, and Madden, also he teased a 4th game he will announce later. Bioware is now coming to talk about a game they’ve been working on, of course its Mass Effect 3! Mass Effect 3 is about a galactic war, where Earth has been taken, and you are going to take it back. Mass Effect 3 will support Kinect, through voice recognition. Here comes a demo, graphics are nice as always. Seems you actually speak out the option on the screen and it picks it for you. Voice commands also work in combat. Ok Melee attacks look amazing!

Ubisoft time! Ghost Recon had a fun little trailer. Seems Ubisoft is also jumping on the voice bandwagon. Ghost Recon has ridiculous gun customization, with 20 million possible guns, this is all controller via voice, and kinect gestures. You can even aim, and fire using kinect! Looks like a shooter can actually be pulled of via Kinect, that was actually pretty neat, although quite silly looking.

Time to talk about Xbox Live, seems they have something in store for television. New dashboard! Its very flat, and very reminiscent of Windows phone 7, or Windows 8. Youtube is coming to Xbox Live! Bing is also coming to Xbox. A search engine for all things on xbox. This is all very slick, Im pretty excited. Live tv is also coming to Xbox. Im super curious how live tv works.

Dana White is now on stage. He is talking about the UFC on xbox. Wow xbox is taking sports to a new level.

Xbox exclusives from here on out.

Time for some exclusives. Gears of War 3 is starting us off. Hey everyone is Cliff, and he brought Ice T with him haha. Time for a live 2 player demo. Action is pretty crazy and intense. Seems mech suits have made their way into Gears, which looks pretty awesome. You can use a friend in a mech suit as cover!

Crytek is up to something now. Looks to be some sort of game based around the Roman time period. Seems its a crazy first person kinect game. Halo music kicks in, looks like the HD remake of the original. Forza up next, with beautiful looking cars. Fable, the Journey is now on screen. Teaser trailer is now playing. Looks like the end of the world is happening in the world of Fable. Ah yes of course its a kinect game. Seems its a on rail first person… silly game. Minecraft with Kinect is coming to xbox 360. Kinect disneyland adventures? A virtual disneyland? Thats neat I guess. Looks like a lot of fun for kids actually! Time for some Star Wars with Kinect. Hmm looks like it needs some work. Ok yeah, this game looks pretty slow, and yeah needs a lot of work. Ok now we are watching a sesame street game, for kids of course. Kinect fun labs just announced, sounds like a fun little tool to mess around with your kinect. Kinect can transform you into a pretty accurate avatar. Alright you can scan real life stuff into your xbox now with Kinect. Kinect Sports 2 is looking nice. Skiing, darts, tennis, football, have all been added. Dance Central 2 time. It has 2 player this time around.

Time to recap everything, I wonder if they will have a big surprise for us to end this all. Halo 4 perhaps? They are teasing the start of a new trilogy. The trailer has started, and seems to be in space. Halo 4 it is! The trailer was gorgeous. Thats it folks!

Nintendo to Stream E3 conference

by Scott Chambers on May 23, 2011

Nintendo announced today that it will be streaming its E3 press conference online this year. The action will kick off on E3.Nintendo.com where Nintendo will be announcing the successor to the Wii. It should be a really awesome time, and I really hope Nintendo has learned some lessons from the Wii and comes back bigger, stronger, and faster for the next console. Stay tuned to this site for all the news when it shakes down on June 7th.

Arguably the most anticipated game for the 3DS eShop (a store where we will be able to digitally download games) launch was Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version. However we have just heard the news that the game will no longer be a launch title due to a delay. They didn’t give us an exact date but just urged the fans to wait a little longer.

New Alan Wake Confirmed

by Scott Chambers on May 10, 2011

Looks like Remedy is at it again. Today the team has announced that another Alan Wake game is on its way. However it will not be Alan Wake 2, nor will it be DLC (Downloadable content). Oskari Häkkinen, head of franchise development for the Finnish developer confirmed that part of his team is working on this title.

“Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that, yes, more Wake is coming!” He also states “It’s something that’ll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this installment will also give an opportunity for players who aren’t familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board.”

Remedy hasnt announced what platforms this will be released on but did hint for a Fall 2011 release date.

Will this be the first time PS3 users will get to experience Alan Wake? Maybe it will be on a  portable? Since Alan Wake was set up as episodes of a TV show, maybe it will be a spin-off? What are your thoughts about this?

May 4, 2011

Well 2011 just a got a little bit lamer. The sequel to one of my favorite games of 2010 has officially been delayed to Q1 2012. Apparently the delay is due to the good folks at bioware wanting to make an amazing game. Casey Hudson the producer of mass effect’s official statement is “The development [...]
